RESIDENTIAL/VACATION CHECKS

As a service to the residents of the Borough of Bridgeville, the police department does provide for on-site premise checks for residents who leave town for short periods of time.

The Bridgeville Police will check your residence to ensure that everything appears to be in order while you are away. The practice is that we try to go daily to the residence and inspect it to ensure your property is secure. This will be done at random times during our patrol duties.

The Bridgeville Police also conducts longer-term residential checks for those residents who leave town for extended periods of time.

If you are going on vacation and wish to have the police department check on your residence please contact our department, AT LEAST A WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE, at 412-221-6052 and we will provide the paperwork for you to fill out in relation to your trip, or you may print a form here, in advance.

Tips: Be sure to terminate delivery services, mail, papers and any other services you may have delivered to your house while you area gone. It is recommended you leave some lights on in the home or purchase timers for your lights to deter criminal activity. The police will assist you, if needed, on what you should do when leaving your home to make your residence and property as secure as possible while you are away. You can make your request here to have your mail held by the Post Office.
